Background check and public records services provider Intelius has been one of the biggest corporate supporters of philanthropy efforts in the Bellevue, Washington area in recent years, under the leadership of chief executive Naveen Jain.
This year, the company will continue is philanthropy efforts by helping sponsor the Overlake Service League as it fulfills Christmas gift wish lists for hundreds of needy families and distributes grocery store gift cards for holiday meals and school breaks throughout the Bellevue area.
"By focusing on the fulfillment of basic needs such as education, healthcare and youth and family services, we seek to make a significant and lasting impact that improves the lives in our local and global community," said Naveen Jain in a statement posted to the company’s website.
According to Carpenter, the philanthropy efforts of Intelius go beyond financing. Employees and managers often volunteer their time and energy at local projects. And their support for local philanthropy has inspired a number of other businesses in the Bellevue area to donate their time and resources, as well.
In addition to the Overlake Service League, the company and its employees donate money, time and effort to a range of youth development groups, including the Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue, Hopelink, YouthCare, Treehouse, CRY America, Pratham, the Bellevue Schools Foundation, the Kindering Center, and the Ranier Scholars program.
"Intelius stands out as a significant community partner of Overlake Service League because at all levels of the company they believe in and care about community," said Overlake Service League director of fundraising and development Trish Carpenter.
Intelius is an information commerce company founded in 2003. Before he co-founded the company, chief executive Naveen Jain was a senior executive at Microsoft and InfoSpace. Jain grew up and attended school in India.
